Pompey and Sunderland both look set to have no new recruits in their ranks when they do battle tomorrow.

The Blues welcome Phil Parkinson's men to Fratton Park tomorrow as the League One heavyweights meet for a seventh time in 13 months.

Football League rules stipulate all paperwork relating to a transfer must be submitted to and approved by the governing body by ‘12pm on the day prior to the date of such match’.

Pompey have brought in Steve Seddon and Cameron McGeeham on loan from Birmingham and Barnsley respectively, while Reeco Hackett-Fairchild arrived from Bromley for an undisclosed fee.

Sunderland, meanwhile, recruited Josh Scowen from QPR and Bristol City’s Bailey Wright, as well as Kyle Lafferty on a free transfer.
