Although the striker has to make do with a place on the bench, such has been the form of replacement John Marquis.

Marquis has netted five times in three matches during Harrison’s hamstring-injury absence and looks a far more effective player in a 4-4-2.

Unsurprisingly, Kenny Jackett has opted to retain the side which started Tuesday night’s 4-0 victory over Northampton, which means Harrison among the substitutes.

He replaces Haji Mnoga on the seven-man bench, representing the sole change to the 18-man squad on duty against the Cobblers.

Elsewhere, Michael Jacobs is still missing with his knee problem and is the only injury issue presently at Fratton Park.

Pompey: MacGillivray, Johnson, Whatmough, Raggett, Brown, Williams, Naylor, Cannon, Curtis, Harness, Marquis.

Subs: Bass, Pring, Close, Morris, Nicolaisen, Harrison, Hiwula.
