CUSTOMERS at a gardening shop in Titchfield had the chance to get up close and personal with some birds of prey during half term.

Garsons in Fontley Road played host to owls, hawks and even a Kookaburra named Kookie, with visitors being able to hold some of the birds under the watchful eye of falconer Alan Greenhalgh.

Assistant manager Lauren Bennett said: '˜The birds of prey caused quite a stir in the garden centre.

'˜It was a privilege for people to be able to hold these wonderful creatures and learn more about them from the very knowledgeable Alan.'
