A police officer living in Hampshire has been charged with murder.

PC Timothy Brehmer, 41, is currently seconded to the National Police Air Service from his home force in Dorset.

The officer is due to appear before Poole magistrates accused of murdering Claire Parry, 41, after she was found unconscious at the Horns Inn, West Parley, Dorset, on Sunday afternoon.

PC Brehmer knew Ms Parry. He was not on duty.

The officer, from Hordle in the New Forest, was treated at hospital for arm injuries. Ms Parry died at Royal Bournemouth Hospital on Sunday.

Dorset police referred the case to the watchdog, the Independent Office for Police Conduct.
