Hampshire police launch search for "antique leprechaun umbrella stand" after two men seen taking it from Havant home

Police have launched a search after two people were seen taking an “antique leprechaun umbrella stand” from outside a Havant home.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary officers are looking for witnesses who may have seen the alleged theft in Alderwood Close on Tuesday, October 17. The two men who were seen making off with the ornament are described as follows:

The first man is described as being in his 40s, 5ft 10, of medium build with dark hair and wearing a hooded top. The second is described as between 35-40 years old, 6ft, of thin build, blond and wearing a baseball cap and jumper.

A force spokesperson said: “We are appealing for witnesses after a woman reported she saw two men take an antique leprechaun umbrella stand from the porch of her address in Alderwood Close.

"At 15:00 on Tuesday 17 October, the two men were reportedly seen running away from the address with the stolen item before turning right into Scratchface Lane.

"We are looking to speak to anyone who may have seen the men or knows which direction they travelled in from Scratchface Lane. We are also keen to hear from anyone who has seen the umbrella stand or has seen it advertised for sale.”
