Customer service and programme innovation

He said that Horizon Leisure has been shortlisted for these awards “because day on day we provide accessible and affordable health initiatives for everyone”.

In both categories, expert judges have been considering what makes Horizon Leisure’s Waterlooville and Havant Leisure Centres stand out from other gyms in the area.

Mike Lyons says the judges have been focussing on Horizon’s “fantastic customer service, retention and programme innovation”.

Wellbeing for all

He says: “At our centres you’ll receive a warm welcome and a safe space to become the best version of yourself.

“We understand people come in all shapes and sizes and so do our activities; there is an offer and an activity for everyone, whatever your age, gender, background. Wellbeing at Horizon Leisure does not discriminate.”

The heart of the community

Horizon Leisure is a charitable trust, with the Havant community at the core of all that it does.

Mike Lyons explains: “As a charity, we don’t have owners or shareholders to pay – any profits we make are reinvested into the wellbeing of our local community by continually improving our sport, leisure and wellbeing offer.”

Be more you, whatever you’re looking for

Horizon Leisure has significantly grown its health programmes and activities, ensuring there is a range of health intervention initiatives for individuals of every age, ability level and varying health needs.

Whether you are looking for swimming, gymnastics and trampolining lessons, junior gym sessions, racquet sports, soft play and holiday kids camps for your kids, or perhaps you’re seeking a GP health referral, over 50s sports clubs, a free health check, group exercise classes, weight management or long term health conditions programmes – then Horizon Leisure has something for you.

In the autumn, the centres have new men’s only spaces, including men’s yoga and good to talk ‘grumble’ groups.
