Merchant team celebrates multiple diploma success

EMPLOYEES at one of the oldest family businesses in the south are celebrating the receipt of their new diplomas.

Three members of staff at Elliotts builders merchants have been qualified by the Builders Merchants Federation.

Portsmouth branch manager Bobby Smith Jnr was awarded a Level 2 Diploma after successfully studying all operational and strategic aspects of running a builders’ merchant.

Assistant branch manager at Totton, Dan Coombes and assistant manager at Chandler’s Ford, Ian Woodhouse, were awarded with their Level 1 Diplomas.

Bobby said: ‘Doing this qualification has given me a better understanding of how the merchanting business runs as a whole.

‘It allows me to run the Portsmouth branch more efficiently and effectively.’

Tom Elliott, managing director of Elliotts, said: ‘Bobby, Dan and Ian play important roles in making their branches a success and their new BMF diplomas will help them to continue their great work.

‘Their continued commitment to their work whilst studying for the diploma reflects their dedication to Elliotts and our customers, and is a testament to their characters.’
