Review: The Three Degrees, The New Theatre Royal, Portsmouth
Forty years on and they still have the moves for the groove.
His Nibs might not have been in the audience at the New Theatre Royal but those who were got a good reminder of the songs that propelled the trio to the top of the Sound of Philadelphia wave.

Hide AdFor me at least, the show got off to a slightly distant start, with no communication with the audience for the first four songs and after that what seemed a slightly detached way of chatting about themselves and their music in between tracks.
But all that changed with Burn, Baby, Burn. It lit a fire of enthusiasm that had people up out of their seats and dancing in the aisles.
The excitement stayed strong through huge hits like Dirty Old Man and Take Good Care of Yourself and, of course, the inevitable When Will I See You Again?
Scintillating in their own co-ordination of movement, the girls had us waving along in the just the right sequence and singing along at the just right moment.
A slick show by three sequined stars.
