York v Pompey: Gaffer for a day
I don’t mind admitting that I came out of the Plymouth game nearly in tears.
It was gutting, such a big game and other results went our way, only for us to lose it so late on.

If I am honest, I probably can’t see us getting automatic promotion now. I expect Oxford United to get it and then, because of their run-in, Bristol Rovers.
You wouldn’t fancy Rovers to drop many points during their final four matches – while we have to win every one of them. Pompey have no margin for error.
Our last four games have produced three wins and then a defeat in which we played well, which is not too bad. But we have now fallen further behind.

Michael Smith had a couple of great chances, not just for shooting but also squaring the ball, but unfortunately chose the wrong option.
I suppose credit to Plymouth, who stuck at it.
On paper, York should be an easy game, their season is all but over and can be relegated tonight. These are games you have to win.
I wouldn’t panic too much with team selection, we have been doing well recently and it does not require ripping up.

I’m going for an optimistic 2-0 win for Pompey as we try to put pressure on the sides above us. Hopefully they’ll slip up.
