The little Argentinean maestro made a huge impact in his time at Fratton Park, as he played a key role in the Great Escape in 2006.

D’Alessandro’s magnificent ability was married with a work rate which ensured he’s one the finest players many fans have seen in a royal blue shirt.

His goal at Charlton remains one of the best from a Blues player in recent years.

And the 34-year-old has been up to his old tricks again.

Now playing for River Plate, D’Alessandro scored this beauty in a 6-0 Copa Libertadores win over The Strongest this week.
