Gaffer for a day: Pompey v Wycombe
Some people write off the FA Cup because they want to focus on the league, but it’s a competition I am definitely fussed about.
Of course we want to get promoted, yet we had a nice little cup run last year which was a good experience

Hide AdRegardless of how far we progress, we have the quality to get out of this division, although need to find that consistency.
Sloppy errors at the back could push us into the play-offs, otherwise we possess enough quality to break into the top three.
For Wycombe, I would like a team containing a mix of experience and youth.
With Michael Doyle and Amine Linganzi missing through suspension, the pair to bring in would be Danny Rose and Ben Close.

Hide AdI would also like to recall Adam Buxton, Milan Lalkovic and Michael Smith, with Gareth Evans, Kyle Bennett and Conor Chaplin rested.
I like Lalkovic, I remember watching highlights of him playing for Walsall last season and he was awesome.
He skipped past people, laid on assists, scored goals and deserves a run of games at Pompey, let’s make him the centre of attention for a while.
Lalkovic has been in and out of our season and hardly set the world alight, but I want him to do well.

Hide AdI would also bring Smith in as the lone striker, even if I don’t think he is a natural goalscorer like Marc McNulty for example.
However, give him the right type of service and he can put a few away, as we saw at Yeovil in the Checkatrade Trophy.
He needs an injection of confidence by being involved in games again, so let’s give him a chance.
I’m going for a 2-0 win – then a nice London away trip in the next round.
