Confirmed by Jackett '“ Coventry striker will NOT face Portsmouth

Kenny Jackett has confirmed Conor Chaplin will not feature for Coventry against Pompey tomorrow night.

The striker will be forced to watch his former side's trip to the Ricoh Arena from the stands.

Chaplin moved to the Sky Blues on loan in August, with the deal becoming permanent for a fee of around £500,000 when the January transfer window opens.

When he first completed his switch to Coventry, confusion arose whether the Fratton Park academy graduate would be able to face Jackett's men.

But the boss has revealed Chaplin is not allowed to play against Pompey. 

The Blues manager said: '˜He's not (playing).

'˜It was in the financial deal, in the contract.

'˜The deal is a loan deal at present but when it becomes permanent in January then the situation changes.

'˜General terms of a loan deal is you don't play against your parent club but when it becomes permanent you can.'
