Portsmouth Royal Navy minister gets to ride with the army in 1975
Mr Judd visited the Portsmouth Detachment 43 Command Workshop REME, at Hilsea Lines, to meet the men working at the establishment and for a briefing on the work done there.
But he also got the feel of riding a motorbike.
Although it is one of the last army units in Portsmouth, the workshops in the establishment repair many types of army equipment, from small compasses and radio sets to 30-ton bridge-carrying trailers.

Among the items seen by Mr Judd was a complete field operating theatre capable of being transported by air to a battlefield.
Mr Judd said: '˜As the navy minister, I was particularly interested to see how the army operates and to make comparisons. I was very impressed.'Â
