Swan blocks train line between Portsmouth and BrightonÂ
The bird, pictured, had to be taken on board a West Sussex-bound Southern train after it stepped on to the tracks close to the station at Shoreham-by-Sea.
Network Rail staff and the driver of the train helped to usher the swan away from danger and will now '˜take it to safety'.Â

The Twitter account Sussex Incidents said: '˜Trains delays between #Worthing and #Brighton due to a swan on the tracks at #Shoreham bridge, power had to be cut whilst the @SouthernRailUK driver & Â @networkrail managed to get the swan on board the train and will take it to safety #SNUpdates #swan.'Â
It comes as disruption is expected on the line because of an earlier signalling fault between Hove and Brighton.
Passengers travelling to Brighton from Portsmouth pass through Worthing, Shoreham-by-Sea and Hove.Â
