Man dramatically winched to safety in English Channel after oil tanker emergency
A MAN was dramatically winched to safety in the English Channel this evening following a medical emergency.
The Hillhead Coastguard Rescue Team helped move the casualty from an oil tanker at sea in dangerous conditions at around 8.30pm.
The person was safely placed aboard a rescue helicopter.
The individual was then flown back to the rescue team’s base where they were then passed into the care of South Central Ambulance Service.
