Fire drill at Gosport school alarms public
A crew from Fareham was called to reports of smoke coming from Bedenham Primary School, in Bridgemary Avenue, Bridgemary, Gosport, yesterday.
But it was a false alarm. The school was tackling a fire drill. There was no fire.

Hide AdWatch manager Simon Whelan said: ‘It was called in as a fire. A person near the school had seen smoke, heard the school’s alarm and put two and two together.
‘When we arrived there was no fire, it was just a fire drill at the school. The smoke was coming from a flue.’
He praised the eagle-eyed resident and said: ‘If you see something like this, don’t hesitate to dial the three nines.’
