Retired men's group seeks'¨new members to join them
The Men’s Shed movement started in Australia and is now growing strongly across the UK. They are places where men, mostly retired, can get together to have a cup of tea and make new friends, build or make things, learn new skills, and support their local communities.
The Fareham Men’s Shed was set up in June with help from Community Action Fareham, at the back of Titchfield Festival Theatre, in St Margaret’s Lane.

The aim is for the Fareham Men’s Shed to have a large enough membership to become a fully independent community organisation so that it can register as a charity in the New Year.
The men involved come from a wide range of backgrounds and have many skills and a lot of enthusiasm.
A workshop has been set up at the theatre with a good selection of tools, including a woodworking lathe, all of which have been kindly donated.

Some of these came from from wives who felt they might like their husbands to consider getting involved...
The group is now campaigning for new members.
It is also seeking grant funding in order to expand the workshop and activities area.
