Portsmouth pensioner recalls wartime memory after bomb discovery
Pat Horten, from Anchorage Park, recalled watching enemy planes descending on the harbour during the Second World War.
He said: ‘I remember standing with some of my chums on the Gosport side of the water when we saw the German bombers flying in.

A 500lb bomb was discovered in the harbour on Wednesday morning by a barge carrying out dredging work. It is the third to be discovered in the area since September.
The discovery of the German bomb meant that Gunwharf Quays and several roads in Old Portsmouth had to be evacuated.
