Theresa May has attacked '˜activist, left-wing human rights lawyers' for taking advantage of members of the armed forces.

The Prime Minister said they were harassing ‘the bravest of the brave: the men and women of our armed forces.’

She was giving her closing speech at this year’s Conservative Party conference.

The BBC reported that about 2,000 allegations against troops who served in Iraq and Afghanistan are being examined.
