Road closed off after fire at fish and chip shop in Gosport

The blaze erupted after a deep fat fryer caught alight at the takeaway restaurant on the High Street at about 7.30pm.
Firefighters from Gosport, Fareham and Portchester attended and extinguished the fire using eight breathing apparatus and two hose reels within 30 minutes.

Hide AdWorkers and residents had to be evacuated from the building.
Police also assisted the incident and cordoned off the road.
Hampshire road police posted on Twitter: ‘Thankfully no injuries.
‘Please avoid the vicinity at the moment whilst the scene is cleared.’
