Seven police officers arrest suspected drug dealer in Cowplain - with shouts of 'show me your hands' heard

Commotion was heard at the junction of Durley Avenue and Chatburn Avenue last Wednesday lunchtime as seven officers cornered a man in a white vehicle.
Police confirmed a man in his 30s was arrested as part of an ‘ongoing drugs investigation’.

Hide AdThe incident shook the female resident, who said: ‘(I was) in my garden when I was alerted by repeated shouting: “Show me your hands."
‘Concerned at what might be happening outside I went out to investigate.
‘There were five police vehicles and seven officers, surrounding a white vehicle. The driver was apprehended, arrested and handcuffed then eventually transferred to a transit vehicle and driven away.
‘The white vehicle was then collected by a recovery company.’

Hide AdShe added: ‘It was unsettling to see such an occurrence so close to our home. These are indeed worrying times.’
A police spokesman said: ‘This related to an ongoing drugs investigation and I can confirm we arrested a man in his 30s from Havant on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs.
‘He was subsequently released under investigation.’
