Roller skater, 12, kicked into fence in attack by yobs and suffers broken wrist in Southampton

A ROLLER skater was assaulted by a pair of yobs, launched into a fence and suffers serious injuries.

The 12-year-old was attacked by two males on Wednesday afternoon.

At 4.30pm, the victim was kicked in the back and sent flying into a fence.

When he tried to flee, one of the offenders kicked him in the back of the leg.

The roller skater fell over and broke his wrist.

Hampshire police said the assault happened on Spring Road, Southampton, at the junction with Peartree Avenue.

Both attackers ran away towards the direction of Bitterne.

One of the offenders is described as being white, aged between 10 and 14, and around 4ft 1ins.

He had mousey brown hair which was swept to the side and was wearing a grey Nike tech fleece jumper with black and white stripes.

The other offender is aged roughly 19, 5ft 11ins, and has short black hair, spotty complexion and stubble on his chin.

He was wearing a black long-sleeved top and was riding a black mountain bike.

Police constable George Arnott said: ‘I am appealing to anyone who witnessed this incident or has any information about who may be responsible. I would urge anyone who may be able to help, to call us as soon as possible on 101 quoting 44220427338.’
