Paulsgrove stabbing: 29-year-old man from Portsmouth arrested

Police investigating the stabbing of a 22-year-old man on Saturday night in Paulsgrove have arrested a 29-year-old man from Portsmouth.
He has been held on suspicion of attempted robbery and conspiring to commit robbery. He has been released from custody but is under investigation.

Hide AdIt comes after paramedics called police to a man they were treating for a stab wound in Hempsted Road, Paulsgrove at 11pm.
He was taken to to Southampton General Hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.
More police will be patrolling in Paulsgrove than usual today.
A spokesman from Hampshire police said: ‘Our neighbourhood team will be carrying our extra patrols in the area, so any residents concerned about what has happened over the weekend please go and speak to these officers.’

Hide AdPolice could be seen scouring the surrounding area on Saturday, having cordoned off the skate park in Allaway Avenue and the woodland area adjacent to Falmouth Road.
Residents expressed their shock at the incident in the ‘quiet area.’
