Man taken to hospital with serious head injury after being assaulted outside Hampshire Boulevard in Portsmouth

The assault happened on the street outside Hampshire Boulevard in Hampshire Terrace in the early hours. Police are not treating it as a hate crime.
Police were called at 1.30am and officers remained at the scene this morning, with pictures showing that the area is still taped off.

Hide AdThe victim, a 38-year-old man, suffered a serious head injury and was taken to hospital. His condition is described as stable.
Hampshire Constabulary have said that enquiries are ongoing, including reviewing CCTV to establish what happened.
Det Sgt David Midgley said: ‘The victim was left with serious head injuries following this assault, we believe that he was punched.
‘Did you see what happened, or anyone having a disagreement on the street in the area at any point between 1am and 1.30am? Please contact us as soon as possible by calling 101 if you have more information.
