Battery acid explodes in maintenance engineer's face while working on Gosport bus lane extension

Emergency crews rushed to the scene just after 10am on Monday behind Gosport Leisure Centre to help the injured man.
Efforts to wash off the acid from the engineer’s face were frantically made before he was taken to hospital by paramedics.

Three engines from Gosport Fire Station attended before helping to ‘wash the man down’.
Alex Hay, crew manager, said: ‘An engineer was needed to come out and have a look some equipment when battery acid somehow exploded in his face.’
