Bookings start for tours of Fort Cumberland for Heritage Open Days
The Heritage Open Days have started today and there will be two tours a day which must be booked.
The tours of the 18th century Fort Cumberland will include the ramparts with gun emplacements, the magazines, and the well-preserved High Angle Fire battery of 1890-4.

Hide AdVisitors will also see a small prison cell known as the Black Hole, and a mid 20th-century cinema/theatre. In 2018 visitors will be able to see the results of an ambitious programme of conservation work.Â
On Sunday there will also be tours of the archaeological science laboratories at 11am and 1.30pm, with artefacts and ecofacts on display Â

- Friday '“ 10.30am and 2pm - Saturday '“ Fort tour 10.30am and 2pmÂ
- Sunday '“ Tour 10.30am and 2pm, lab tour  11am and 1.30pm
