Cllr Farr said: ‘It’s nice to see these youngsters dedicating their time to learn these important skills.
‘It is something that could see them move on to become doctors and nurses so it is brilliant of them to be a cadet.
‘I think everyone should know first-aid especially nowadays.

Cllr Farr said a cadet helped his wife June when she hurt herself at the Michaelmas Fair.
‘They knew what to do and it was really nice having their help,’ he added.

Angie Petts, from the group, said: ‘The cadets will come across people from all walks of life so we think it is important they learn about different illnesses that people could be suffering.
‘First-aid is a massive part of what we do here but we also spend time with the police teams, the Gosport and Fareham Inshore Rescue Service and the ambulance service.’
The cadets were also visited by Fareham mayor Cllr Mike Ford last month.
He also learned some first aid skills as well as having a go at the CPR.
Angie added: ‘It is good for the cadets to be able to show what they have learnt and put it into practice.’
