After visiting the university as part of a residential trip, the dedicated student had to sit and pass the university’s admission test and three interviews conducted via Zoom.

After hearing he had been successful in his application onto the four-year degree, Joshua said: ‘I was astounded when I received the news that I had an offer from Princeton. After visiting the university, it became my dream.

‘I want to thank the Careers Department at Barton Peveril and, specifically, Ros Laird for her great help through the entire process.’

Careers adviser Mrs Laird said: ‘Joshua optimises the values of a Barton Peveril student. He is responsible, respectful, and committed to the highest standard of learning, effort and achievement.

‘We are all so proud of what Joshua has achieved and wholeheartedly wish him every success for the future.’

Joshua intends to major in the School of Public Policy and International Affairs and hopes to pursue a career in this field.

Unfortunately due to ongoing Covid restrictions, Joshua has had to start his course remotely, attending online lectures at his Hampshire home until the Princeton campus is able to reopen.
