Hide AdCllr Peter Edgar of Hampshire County Council said: ‘Despite being the third largest shire county in England, with 534 maintained and academy schools educating over 170,000 pupils, Hampshire receives one of the lowest school funding grants from central government.’
Cllr Edgar said that he was aware of imminent consultations on funding reform.
‘I am sure that headteachers will take the opportunity to make their views known through this consultation opportunity’, he added.
Portsmouth City Council was unable to comment on the matter.
