Newtown C of E Primary School in Queen’s Road, Gosport, has joined the national Share the Miracle initiative, which aims to instill kindness and generosity among young people as they help out others who need their support.
In spite of the lockdown, staff and students alike at the school have been using the virus pandemic to strengthen their ties with the community.

Emma Howlett, the school’s headteacher, said: ‘I am so proud of the children and staff at Newtown C of E Primary School.
‘During this unsettling period, we have not only been courageous and resilient but have become a real community hub for all those in Gosport and have continued to share the miracle to transform the lives of the local community.’
The Share the Miracle initiative has allowed students and teachers to form friendships between one another, as well as lifting spirits in their community.

But they haven't been alone in their endeavours, with help coming in from businesses in the surrounding area.
Lee Book Shop helped the students to create hampers for NHS staff, Dominos Pizza helped them to have a pizza party for key worker families and Morrisons donated Easter eggs for pupils to hand out as well.
The Share the Miracle initiative aims to ‘put a dent in loneliness’ through intergenerational displays of kindness.
