Crofton Christmas concert

LAST month, Crofton School celebrated the festive season with its Christmas concert.

On December 10 and 11, audiences enjoyed a variety of different performances from the school’s orchestra, choirs and many more.

The concert was in tribute to a man who anonymously made a donation to support the school’s Music Department.

One of the most popular songs was Somewhere Over the Rainbow, performed by The Senior Orchestra and Choir.

Performer Eloise said: ‘It was an amazing collaboration dedicated to the man who donated the money.

‘We performed this to thank someone - who would rather remain anonymous - who donated a large sum of money to our music department. We have used it to build a new computer suite for composing pieces quicker with more ease. All schools should have the chance to perform and learn in such an amazingly equipped area to learn. It improves the quality of learning not just for one person but for everyone.’

There were also solo and duet performances of Christmas classic songs.

At the end of the second concert headteacher Simon Harrison, announced ‘how proud I am to be headmaster of Crofton School’.
