Unbeaten Hayling target Division Four title
AMBITIOUS Hayling Island are at full strength for their top of the table clash against Redlynch and Hale in Division Four of the Hampshire League, on Saturday.
Something will have to give as both teams boast a 100 per cent record after the first three fixtures of the cricket season.
Hayling will be looking to repeat last season's thumping win over their visitors when they had the game done and dusted by tea.
But Sam Thompson, the team's leading runmaker so far, expects a much tougher test tomorrow.
He said: "I think they had an off-day and they have shown themselves to be a strong side this year.
"We are definitely up for it though, as our focus is to try to win the league."
Wicket-keeper Ian Collier is back from holiday while off-spinner Mike Lever returns from Exeter University to bolster skipper Phil Mist's bowling options.
Neil Blackey, who made a century on the opening day of the season is also back in the first XI.
Last weekend, Hayling beat Bishops Waltham by 35 runs as the home side were dismissed for 185 after the visitors posted a total of 220-9.
Mike Hallett was Hayling's top scorer with 61 boosted by 42 from in-form Thompson.
Left-arm seamer Dave Gorvin polished off Bishops Waltham with five for 55.
