Paul in hunt for more medals

IN the Laser World Championship held at Hayling Island Sailing Club this week, the solid easterly breeze put the onus on physical sailing.

After six races, two-time world champion, Australia's Tom Slingsby, topped the leaderboard with three bullets on his scorecard totalling 14 points.

But team GBR sailor Paul Goodison, the current Olympic and World Champion, was only four points off the lead in third, tied on points with Kiwi Josh Junior, one of four new Zealanders in the top eight.

Goodison's GBR team-mate Nick thompson was sixth with 28 points on the board.

A total of 159 sailors raced in the senior division with the last race due to be held on Sunday, September 5.
