Kanoo hoping to be crowned King
TEENAGER Jake Kanoo – ranked junior number one in the south – is to fight for the vacant Southern Areat title at the Pyramids in Southsea, on Saturday, August 28.
The 13-year-old won his last fight at the Pyramids in February when he beat Spencer Humphries on points.
He has been training hard during the summer holidays in readiness for the title bout with his trainer Andy Foreman
Amazingly he has slimmed down from 79 kilos for his first fight in November, to just 57, winning three fights all at different weights along the way.
Jake has been sparring with former professional boxer Jon Honey, and has been backed by Islander Eric Cramp, a taxi cab firm owner, and Hayling Barber's Mark Griffiths, who have both helped with sponsorship.
