Bookies link Brighton with Manchester United’s Michael Owen
England legend Michael Owen has once again been linked with a sensational loan move to Brighton and Hove Albion.
Throughout the summer the Seagulls were among the favourites to snap up the one-time England goal-grabber who has failed to find his feet at Old Trafford despite his enviable scoring record throughout his career.
Now the Albion have been installed as 7/4 favourite with one online bookmaker to finalise a loan deal for Owen before the end of the January transfer window.
Brighton fans though have laughed off the unlikely deal – having seen the Championship outfit linked to the former England star numerous times before only for nothing to come of the rumours.
It seems the bookies are still putting two and two together and coming up with five with regards to the Owen move, which is considered as little more than pie in the sky.
Amex boss Gustavo Poyet has said he hopes to make a pair of significant signings over the coming weeks, but Owen is almost certainly not going to be among them.
