Hayling plan to bounce back at Paultons
HAYLING Island aim to bounce back from their first defeat of the season when they travel to Paultons, near Romsey, to face their second XI.
Captain Phil Mist's side lost for the first time this season against promotion rivals Rowner at Hayling Park last weekend.
But Hayling are determined to win their 10th game of the season and preserve their 100 per cent away record.
Mist has picked a full strength squad that has served him so well this season with in-form batsmen Sam Thompson, Mike Lever, Mike Hallett and the fit-again Neil Blackey hoping to get among the runs again.
Strike bowlers Dave Wayman and Dave Gorvin have been the chief threats to the opposition in the field.
But with changeable weather, Mist will be hoping to get a result to retain the pressure on the new leaders of County Division Four South in the Hampshire - Rowner, who have won eight and drawn one of their nine games.
Thompson said: "Confidence is still high and we are determined to take advantage of any slip-ups by Rowner."
