Gorvin is the dangerman

STUDENT Dave Gorvin is the bowler who can maintain Hayling Island's march to promotion in County Division Four South of the Hampshire League.

With five wins out of five, Phil Mist's team travel to Privett Park on Saturday where they face Gosport Borough II.

Gorvin has already picked up two five-wicket hauls this season – including a hat-trick.

Leading run maker Sam Thompson said: "Dave is our leading wicket-taker by far as he keeps reminding us.

"Our two opening bowlers are quicker but he bowls a good length with some movement.

"Dave does owe a lot to strike bowlers Dave Wayman and Graham Cottle, who have pinned the top-order batsmen down.

"We are playing well as a team and confidence is sky high in the camp."
