Manager Matt Parr was delighted with the display. "Our hard work is starting to pay off," he said.
"Despite the wet conditions we got the ball down and moved it around well and when we do that we are as good as anyone in our league."
Midfielde
r Danny Hayes pulled the strings as Graham Lindsey (two), Tom Chapman, Ben Buckland , Nathan Kirby and Hayes himself all got on the scoresheet against the Isle of Wight side that lost 3-0 at the College Ground in the FA Vase in October.
Parr added: "We kept faith with Danny earlier in the season when he wasn't at his best and he is now rewarding us for that with some outstanding performances.!"
United had put in their worst performance of the season a week earlier as they went down to a 3-0 defeat against Bournemouth Poppies, at Victoria Park.
"It was one of the worst games of football I have ever seen in the Wessex League and, unfortunately, we were involved in it,' said United's boss. "We were very poor.
"At half-time I made three substitutions and would have made nine if it had been allowed.
"Our inexperience showed through and as team we thought all we had to do to win was turn up. We lacked passion, movement and seemed to be running on empty from the first whistle."
United reached the quarter-finals of the Wessex League Cup with a dramatic 3-1 win after extra-time at Bemerton Heath Harlequins, on November 25.
Lee Paul put Hayling in front early in the second half but Bemerton hit back to equalise 15 minutes from time to take the game into extra-time.
The visitors took charge in the extra period and goals from Graham Lindsey and James Knight secured their passage.
"All the extra training we put in paid off," said a joyous Matt Parr. "We played some quality football and fully deserved to go through."
Hayling will meet the winners of the tie between Alresford and Hamworthy Town, after being drawn at home, some time in the New Year.
The Humbugs will be hoping for a good league run up to Christmas following their demolition job on Brading, with boss Parr targeting a place in the top six in his first year in charage at The College Ground.
His side travel to Alton for a Wessex Premier clash on December 6, before facing a trek to the New Forest to face Brockenhurst a week later, looking to avenge their 2-0 home defeat in November.
It will be the second meeting in four days for the two sides who meet in the Third Round of the Hampshire Senior Cup. Hayling's reward for winning at Southern League side AFC Totton in September is a tough trip to the team currently fourth in the Wessex Premier.
Parr's men will get the chance to avenge their bashing at Bournemouth when the Poppies arrive at The College Ground on December 20.
Goals from Graham Lindsey, Steve Boston and Danny Thompson earned Matt Parr's Hayling United both a 3-1 victory and the bragging rights against local Wessex Premier League rivals Fareham Town at the College Ground, on November 18.
The Humbugs had led a charmed life in the opening 45 minutes.
But they somehow survived, helped by the wastefulness of the Reds who never looked likely to score, apart from a shot that keeper Tony Harrop did well to turn over from Wayne Boud – and a header that Gavin Spurway saw cleared off the line.
The Islanders eventually took the only chance they created in the first half, Lindsey taking a through-ball to beat Fareham's James Bosbury as he raced out.
Early in the second half, Boud set up Gary Austin to drag Fareham back in the match with an equaliser, though Hayling soon restored their lead when debutant Steve Boston struck.
Hayling ended any hopes that Fareham had of salvaging a point as Danny Thompson let fly a rocket.
And with the celebrations hardly over, Lindsey had enough left in his tank to race clear and blast in a shot that crashed against the Fareham crossbar and over.
