THE Havant and Hayling Bowmen had an excellent days archery at Sway in the New Forest returning home with a haul of trophies and medals, on August 17.
Vince Verrier took gold in the Long Western Gents Compound and their youngest member, James Heaton-Harris, aged nine, from Hayling, scooped the bronze medal in the Under 18s.

This was James' first archery competition and though quite shy, he was overjoyed to receive his medal and add to the club's triumphs that day.

Havant and Hayling Bowmen shoot mainly at Fort Purbrook and always welcome new members. Beginner's courses run for six weeks on a Monday evening.
