Woman sexually assaulted on Hayling Island
A WOMAN has been sexually assaulted by a man on Hayling Island.
The 24-year-old woman was attacked on Southwood Road near the junction of a cul-de-sac, also called Southwood Road between 10.30pm and 11.30pm on Wednesday, September 5.
The suspect is described as being a skinny white male, aged between 17 and 20-years-old and about 5ft 9ins tall. He has dark hair and was wearing a red hoody at the time of the attack.
Detective Sergeant Elizabeth Brunt said: ‘We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or anyone who recognises the suspect from the description.
‘Thankfully this is a very rare occurrence on the island; however increased police patrols have been put in place to help to reassure the community.’
