Windsurfer is rescued from sea in Langstone Harbour
TWO lifeboats were used to help bring a windsurfer back to safety.
The female windsurfer, from Eastleigh, waved for help after her sail board was causing her problems in the water near Langstone Harbour.
One lifeboat from Portsmouth and a second from Hayling Island helped bring her back to dry land.
The woman was brought back to Hayling Island, from where she had set off.
Volunteers helped to get her warm as she had become cold in the sea.
She did not need any other medical assistance.
Solent Coastguard were called yesterday at 3.15pm.

Friday, January 27, 2012 at 08:23 AMI was involved in rescuing a woman windsurfer from oposite the Inn on the Beach at that time on Sunday. If this was the same rescue, it involved one RNLI Rib + the Search & Rescue chopper. Notwithstanding towing her back in, I was very glad to hand her to the RNLI on shore for a check up. The real story for me here, is not the rescue but the fact that the community of windsurfers on Hayling Beach front genuinely look out for each other - a warming thought in what is meant to be the epoch of the individual. I would add that I was aided by another fellow windsurfer, who salvaged the woman's kit and returned it to her (her mast had broken). It is easy to forget that we have a windsurfing, history and culture that is the envy of many. Hayling is and remains a great spot to enjoy the sport.
