UKELELE sensation Huw Olesker will be performing at the launch of a new club dedicated to the quirky instrument.

The 17-year-old, from Somers Town, will play at the launch of The Ukelele Club at Hayling Island Community Centre on Monday.

Award-winning Huw has been impressing crowds with his energetic performances, quirky leftfield lyrics and enthusiasm for the ukulele since being discovered on the local music circuit at just 13 years old.

He has even performed at Glastonbury.

Huw said: ‘I am really excited about the prospect of there being more ukulele enthusiasts on the south coast.’

Dielle Hannah, who is running the new club, said: ‘The ukulele really is an instrument for everyone – it’s small, portable and easy to learn quickly. We would love anyone to come and enjoy our free taster session and meet Huw. He’s incredible!’

The event takes place from 8pm to 9.30pm.
