Real brews and great food at two beer fests
REAL ale lovers will soon be in for a double treat.
Hayling Island Lions Club will put on its first beer festival at Northney Village Hall, in St Peter’s Road, Hayling Island over March 16 and 17.
Up to 12 real ales and four ciders will run through the taps during the two-day bash, which has been named Spring Fest.
All proceeds from the event will go towards national charity Water Aid, which helps to provide clean water for the world’s poorest people.
Between April 6 and 9 The Junction Tavern, in Leesland Road, Gosport, will hold a beer festival for the second year running.
Customers will be treated to 13 different real ales, three ciders and one perry.
Tasty treats including sandwiches, pork pies and pasties will also be on offer during The Junction Tavern Mini Beer Festival.
Landlady Deana Geary, 36, said: ‘I put on a beer festival for the first time last year and the customers absolutely loved it.
‘I have a lot of real ale drinkers here so it was the perfect thing to do. I’m really looking forward to doing it again.’
