Mill Rythe goes interactive
PARENTS and pupils will switched on to homework, school trips and the very latest about what youngsters are learning at Mill Rythe Junior School this year.
Thanks to their interactive website, designed by ICT co-ordinator James Bowen, students and their families can already find out at the click of a mouse a wide variety of information from the school lunch menu to how to order school uniform on-line.
The Year Six teacher has just completed the first phase of the project, which includes downloadable homework, and a guest book for former pupils.
By the end of the summer term he plans to have new e-learning facilities available, including links to websites with more information and interactive games relevant to subjects the youngsters are studying.
"Pupils can't come in on Monday and say they have lost their homework," said Mr Bowen. "I plan to start the second phase with Science in the spring term and Maths and English in the summer, which will help with SATs revision. It will be as interactive as possible."
