Man warned he faces jail over ‘sale’ of Hayling Island property

A CONMAN who cheated a woman out of thousands of pounds has been warned he could go to jail.

Russell Hollick agreed to sell a flat he did not own to Rachel Cavill, who lost £27,000 in the deal.

Hollick was due to stand trial at Portsmouth Crown Court yesterday but he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of fraud at the last minute.

The court heard that he conned Ms Cavill between September 2009 and July 2010 over the property in Solent View Court, Southwood Road, Hayling Island.

Hollick, 44, of Ardrossan Gardens, Worcester Park, London, was released on bail to be sentenced later this month.

Judge Ian Pearson told him: ‘All sentencing options will be considered and that includes custody.’
