PUNTERS and staff at a popular pub are stripping off for charity.

Lily’s, in Hayling Island, is well known for putting on great events for good causes.

In the past regulars have held music festivals and book sales – but this time they have agreed to go that extra mile by peeling off for a cheeky calendar.

They enlisted the help of photographers from Hayling Camera Club who took tasteful shots at stunning locations around the island.

Landlady Colleen Parry posed in her birthday suit behind some strategically positioned beer pumps.

The 52-year-old grandmother said: ‘It all started with a random conversation about how we were going to top the music festival in May.

‘And, in a moment of madness someone came up with the idea of doing a calendar. It was something said for a laugh and we decided to go for it We’ve had them taken all over the island – in boats, on the beach, an industrial yard, in a barn, and I had my picture taken in the bar.

‘I was petrified because I’m not the slimmest of people, but it was a great laugh.’

The models span generations with the youngest just 18 and the eldest 73.

But they have a serious reason for taking part.

All the money raised will go to the Meningitis Trust, in memory of customer Donna Cooper’s nephew Bailey Joseph Cooper. He died aged just 14 months in 2001 after contracting meningococcal septicaemia.

Donna said: ‘We just want to raise awareness of this horrible illness and to keep it in the public eye.

‘If parents are worried they need to get their children checked immediately.’

Donna, from Hayling, has been photographed in the boxing gym above Lily’s where she trains with some friends. Peter Rocchiccioli, from Hayling Camera Club, organised the photography.

He said: ‘It was very interesting because obviously they aren’t your common or garden pictures.

‘We had to make them discreet but at the same time they couldn’t be boring.’

The calendars will be available from October 1, priced at £6. To order your copy call in at the pub, on Creek Road.
