Hayling Island pub goers take on charity golf day
GOLFERS will stage a 16-hour dawn-to-dusk challenge to raise hundreds of pounds towards research into muscular dystrophy.
Staff from The Lifeboat pub on Hayling Sea Front will compete in two teams of four under team captains Bill Wallage and David Jenvey, who both work at the pub.
The Four Course Classic is the UK’s largest charity golf tournament.
The challenge sees hundreds of golfers from across the UK battle to complete 72 holes – covering more than 15 miles of fairway – between sun up and sun down on the longest Friday of the year, June 22.
Mr Wallage’s team will take on courses across Littlehampton and Bognor Regis, while Mr Jenvey’s team will tackle New Forest clubs for the showdown.
Mr Wallage said: ‘This is the first year that the Lifeboaters have taken on the Four Course Classic and with two staff teams going head to head, things are already getting very competitive.’
To sponsor the team pop into the pub or call (023) 9246 3624. To enter your own team in the event go to fourcourseclassic.co.uk
