Free activities for family fun!

HAVANT Borough Council has organised free sports activities for all the family throughout the summer and right on until March next year.

As part of the Get Active Havant campaign the Havant SPAA (Havant Sport and Physical Activity Alliance) has funded the various courses, arranged to encourage families to play sports together and feel the benefits of healthy exercise.

The first of many courses organised are Mum's and Daughters netball course at Crookhorn College, two one-day family cycling courses at Staunton Country Park and two evening tennis sessions at Staunton Community Sports College - with rackets and tennis balls provided.

Hayling West councillor Andy Lenaghan, the borough's portfolio holder for community and culture, said;" It's great to be able to offer a variety of courses free of charge to our residents.

"This will help towards the five times, 30-minutes-a-week of activity recommended for a healthy active lifestyle."

Look out for the Summer Activities leaflet in Hayling Library, the Community Centre, and at the Civic Offices for further details.

Alternatively call Havant Borough Council customer services 9244 6019 or visit www.getactivehavant.co.uk for the latest courses scheduled for the summer and later in the year.
