Disco bounce is ticket only
AS a result of the increased success of Disco Bounce the organisers have decided it would be safer if the children purchased tickets in advance.
This will enable enough volunteers to be available in line with child-to-adult ratios under the child protection policy of the organisers, Hayling Baptist Church.
The new rules mean no child would need to be turned away unless they did not have a ticket.
The discos have grown in popularity down the years and have been oversubscribed recently, causing problems with more kids turning up than could be accommodated.
Events are open to children aged seven to 14 and tickets will still be priced at 2.50. They can be purchased from the Community Centre two weeks before each event – there are normally around six a year.
The next is on Friday, May 28, from 7-9pm.
The organisers hope parents will support the new arrangements.
Anne Keen said: "We hope they understand this is being done because the safety of the children is our main concern.
"Please ensure your child's name and contact phone number is completed on the reverse of the ticket for safety reasons."
