Dedication of Copp stone

AFTER years spent campaigning for recognition, a memorial of a secret, elite military unit will be officially unveiled tomorrow.

Countess Mountbatten will be joined by actresses Anna Chancellor and Wendy Adams at the Copp memorial stone, on Hayling Seafront at 11.30am for the dedication service of the 12-ton granite block.

It marks the reconnaissance work carried out by the Combined Operations Pilotage Parties who were based on the island during the Second World War.

The public are welcome.
